Gobustan nature reserve is included in the UNESCO list and is one of the wonders of the world.

Who is this tour for?

This excursion will be interesting to everyone who likes to look at unusual natural phenomena and solve the mysteries of antiquity. You will see unique geological formations and visit the mysterious caves that were once the cradle of humanity. You will be immersed in the history of stone and the oil boom of Baku.

Paleontology: art through the ages

Art does not die. You can easily be convinced of this in the historical and art reserve of Gobustan. It is enough to go down to the caves and carefully examine the unique drawings carved on the vaults of the caves. The breathtaking effect of how ancient these paintings are, but their plots are still understandable to modern man - wild animals, pursuit, and sharing of prey.

Cave paintings of Gobustan belong to the Upper Paleolithic period. According to experts, they are several tens of thousands of years old!

Geological wonder: mud volcanoes

The next point of the tour is mud volcanoes. Gobustan is called the country of mud volcanoes, because there are more of them than anywhere else.

By the way, there are more than half of the world's mud volcanoes in Azerbaijan!

During the tour, you will be able to fully examine this miracle of nature, find out how it is formed, and what types of volcanoes exist in nature (in Gobustan there is almost everything!). On the way back to Baku, there will be a small stop at the Bibi Heybat sanctuary, where the remains of one of the descendants of the prophet Muhammad rest. You can make memorable photos of this beautiful sight of Azerbaijan and learn about all the vicissitudes of its fate.
