Searching of Russian trace in historical sights of Zakhatala

Zakhatala has an old town square called Platanova like many important cities. City began to form around this street. We will walk around a historical place, then be acquainted with the buildings on it, and find out how trees and a freed slave have a relation to the name of the square.

We will see here the famous building of this city, namely Zakhatala fortress.

Russian government built in 1830. It was well equipped with guns, and the Russian garrison was located here. For what? Our goal is to find out. You will be surprised how ancient, Soviet-era, and modern buildings combined with charming, neat nature creating amazing paintings.

Surroundings of Zakhatala - a storehouse of truly unique attractions

The village of Upper Chardahlar hides the original building - the Peri fortress.
